BIM is a work methodology for construction projects (building and infrastructure) that seeks to manage the information prepared during the development of the project throughout the life cycle of the asset. The methodology, based on the collaboration, requires work teams with defined roles and responsibilities.
We'll talk about each of the roles and their associated responsibilities in future posts, but there are a few general ideas What we wanted to share with you:
· In the management of a BIM project the roles NO They are positions in the company, but are associated with functions and responsibilities.
· The management of a BIM project is carried out between all members of the work team.
· A team member can take on more than one role.
· A role can be performed by more than one team member.
· It is necessary to be competent and have authority to perform the assigned role.
· Roles can perform different activities during the life cycle of a BIM project.
· The roles that we know do not correspond to 100% with the construction agents contemplated in the LOE.
· They can take place updates of roles due to project requirements.
A specific training, as you see, can lead us to the performance of different work roles.
Below we show a possible organization chart of BIM roles, although it must be adapted depending on the project, its phases and the size of the work team.
