Building bridges, European diversity month

It's arrived! The month of May is here, where we will celebrate the #Mis European Diversity!

It is important to highlight the work that organizations are doing to encourage diversity in the workplace, as well as the creation of inclusive environments. We see, for example, how new measures are born with the aim of ensuring diversity in the workplace, such as Equality Plans, which are helping companies diagnose their situation and eliminate any type of discrimination; in addition to other private initiative measures that companies themselves decide to establish to ensure that their doors are open to talent, regardless of the personal condition of the person bringing it.

Why is he born Equality Plan?

The objective of the Equality Plan is to guarantee equal treatment between women and men in the workplace and eradicate all behaviors, customs or stereotypes that prevent it from becoming effective. Within the evolutionary calendar of application, since March 7, companies with more than 50 workers are required to have one.

What does the European Diversity Month?

Under the motto #building bridges, the #Diversity Foundation, will launch throughout May various initiatives in the areas of diversity and inclusion policies, which are assumed by a large number of organizations of different kinds. Although this project was promoted in 26 countries, and this Foundation has been in charge of its management in Spain.

European Diversity Month

What is the aim to achieve with the creation of this European Diversity Month? It has been created with the following objectives in mind:

  • Increase awareness about the benefits of Diversity and Inclusion

With the approval of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the international community has recognized the fundamental role played by culture as an engine of change and development. The achievement of its 17 goals will not be possible without harnessing the strength and creative potential that emanate from the diversity of cultures and without constant dialogue to ensure that all members of society benefit from this development.
