In this sense, the minister has indicated that energy efficiency must be one of the central pillars of energy policy and the Government is being very active in this matter through the National Energy Efficiency Fund. He also highlighted that the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) has been named Intermediate Body for the management of actions within the low-carbon economy objective of the Sustainable Growth Operational Program 2014-2020. The IDAE will manage more than 2,000 million FEDER aid for actions such as energy efficiency, thermal renewables, wind farms in the Canary Islands, links between the islands and the peninsula, promotion of renewable R&D&I and unique projects by local entities.
