That Linkedin is the most established professional social network is nothing new, what you may not know is that in Linkedin you can introduce yourself with a 10-second voice note, this time can be a brief introduction to the company you end up working for!

In a dynamic and changing work context, we have to look for differentiation, and any resource within our reach is welcome to take advantage of it and get the most out of it.. For this reason, LinkedIn has introduced a new functionality to make our profile more accessible and dynamic: an audio clip that will appear next to your name.

You have 10 seconds, so make good use of them, many names require a specific pronunciation, it is a great moment for the person responsible for the selection to hear your name pronounced by the person who can do it best: you!

Perhaps your strong point is languages, take advantage of these 10 seconds to make your presentation in the language that you think will give you a job opportunity.

You can also use this resource to make an original presentation, it does not have to be serious, formal and traditional, you can think of something fun to complete your Linkedin profile.

It must be taken into account that the option of add clip is only available in mobile version, although the computer version can also be played.

You just have to follow these steps to add the clip Audio:

  • go to yourLinkedIn application on mobile.
  • View your profile and click on the 'edit' button, the pencil next to the photo.
  • In 'edit presentation 'you will see the option'add name pronunciation.
  • Pressing will open a recorder, you just have to click on the microphone image to record. Remember, you have 10 seconds.
  • Once you've recorded it, you can choose who can listen the audio.
  • When you like the result you just have to click 'save' and a new icon will appear next to your name on your profile.

Some advices to record the clip Audio:

  • Take a few minutes to think and write what you want to say and practice it.
  • Pronounce slowly and vocalize each word.
  • keep the mobile microphone about 10 centimeters away away.
  • Record in a quiet place so that nothing interferes with your voice.
  • Don't limit yourself to saying your name, say hello and introduce yourself.
  • You can include your professional profile or sector, opportunity, project or job you are looking for. That is to say, What do you expect and what value do you bring? to the LinkedIn community.

We see great potential in these 10 seconds, I hope you do it too and it creates the opportunity for your brand or for a company to get to know you a little better.
