With the arrival of the Labor Reform (Royal Decree-Law 32/2021), , which mainly seeks to end the precariousness of employment, There have been a series of changes in the labor market.
One of the most relevant aspects of the aforementioned Reform has been the inclusion of new contracting modalities, among which we highlight the alternation training contract.
What is the alternation training contract?
The alternation training contract will have as its objective make paid work activity compatible with the corresponding training processes in the field of vocational training, university studies or the Catalog of training specialties of the National Employment System.
What requirements must be met to enter into this type of contract?
For the worker:
- Be registered as job seeker in the SEPE.
- Not having an official qualification related to the position to be held.
- Age: up to 30 years for Professional Certificates level 1, 2 and catalog of specialties. This limit does not apply for level 3 certificates and people with recognized disabilities.
- Not having held that position in the same company for more than 6 months.
For the company:
- Designate a person in the company who tutor the worker.
- Commits to respect effective work and training hours.
- Not have debt with the Treasury or Social Security.
What bonuses does this contract have?
It will be possible to obtain a reduction of 100% in the Social Security contributions of the hired worker and of 100% in the business contributions to Social Security when the company's workforce is less than 250 people or of 75% if the workforce is equal to or greater than 250 workers.
What duration can the alternation training contract have?
The minimum duration will be 3 months and a maximum of 2 years.
What is the effective working time?
During the first year of total hours, 65% will be for actual work, and 35% is dedicated to training.
In the 2nd year, it will be a 85% for work and 15% for training.
For all of the above, the alternation training contract is presented as a very interesting option for both workers and companies.
