Marketing is the basis of sales. How many types of Marketing are there?

He marketing It surrounds our daily lives, we see it in the streets, on television, we hear it on the radio and we consume it from the moment we wake up until we go to bed. It is one of the toolIt is the favorite of all companies, which changes and adapts depending on the sector to which it is applied and the objective it seeks.

Types of marketing

We can talk about countless types of marketing precisely due to that mutability and breadth. But today we are going to focus on the most used types of marketing:

  1. Offline or traditional marketing: It includes that set of actions that have nothing to do with the use of the Internet; This type of marketing includes merchandising, advertisements in the written press, billboards...
  2. Digital marketing: Currently it has become an indispensable tool for most companies, it includes all the strategies carried out on the internet; from advertising on social networks, the creation of exclusive content or always having a website.
  3. Outbound or incisive marketing: Although it is in decline because it sometimes produces more rejection than attraction, it focuses on a direct search for attention on the product, without filtering which customers it wants to attract.
  4. Inbound marketing: Unlike the previous one, it is a rising trend, which focuses only on potential clients, trying to make the offer only to the clients we can convince, to save resources and carry out a more effective strategy.
  5. Content Marketing: It emerged as a response to the evolution of digital marketing, and focuses on creating quality content that brings the brand closer to the consumer and creates a good brand image. We can exemplify this through company blogs or YouTube videos that they create exclusively for that network.
  6. Email Marketing: Also within online strategies, it focuses on sending massive content with offers and promotions through email. Until now it has been very effective, however, it is losing power due to the saturation to which clients are subjected.
  7. Social media Marketing: It includes all the strategies carried out on social networks, allowing unparalleled interaction with potential clients.
  8. SEO and SEM: Both focus their efforts on achieving the best possible positioning within search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing...). He SEO (Search Engine Optimization) seeks to do it organically, and the SEM (Search Engine Marketing) through paid ads and campaigns within search engines.

Generally, companies use a combination of various types of marketing to achieve your sales goals, not just one. And it is usually a combination of online and offline marketing the most chosen for its effectiveness and for being the perfect way to reach a broader and more diverse audience, although, as we have already commented in previous posts, everything will depend on what type of audience we are targeting. So the first thing to keep in mind before choosing one marketing modality or another is to clearly define what our consumer is like. Only then will we know how to reach it in the most effective way.
