Views from entrepreneurship

Once in a workshop I heard the following statement:

“Companies would be a nice place to work if it weren't for the customers”

Although it may seem ironic, this vision is much more widespread than is believed among the staff, officials and workers of a company.

Customer Insights

Perceiving the client as someone who is annoying, who takes up time or who is always willing to cheat us is more common than we think and, unfortunately, it comes from not understanding the nature of the client and what does a company mean?

Therefore, it is necessary to always give view from entrepreneurship to business activities and share this permanently with our collaborators.

In this article I want to share some of these perspectives, which I hope are useful to you.

  1. Always remind your collaborators that who pays their salary is not the company, nor the shareholders, nor the owners, nor the management; are the clients, who, by purchasing from the company, allow it to have resources. It is they, the clients, who pay the salary of a company's staff. In some cases, I would even go so far as to suggest that the payment slips indicate that the salary compensation is paid on behalf of the client.
  2. Permanently encourage the meeting of company employees with clients so that the latter can send them their opinions, criticisms, suggestions and opportunities for improvement and that they feel that, for the management of the company, the most important opinion will always come from the client.
  3. Many entrepreneurs are afraid or feel the threat that seeding the entrepreneurial spirit in their workers will destroy their company. This causes them some anxiety and makes them believe that workers will end up doing a business and leaving the company and, in the worst case, they will learn what is necessary and then choose to do a competing business. However, they do not realize that this is a possibility that is always present and that cannot be prevented, regardless of whether or not there is talk of entrepreneurship at work.

Entrepreneurship thinking

This should not be perceived as a threat; On the contrary, employers should encourage their company's staff to have a entrepreneurship thinking and feel a intrapreneur, that is, he behaves as if he were the owner of the company itself.

The worst thing you can have in an organization is people who always think within the paradigm of being an employee and who behave only as such. You must know how to recognize an entrepreneur within a company because it is a jewel that must be taken care of.

Entrepreneurship values of business activity

Talk to your executives, managers, and leadership and responsibilities to convey this entrepreneurship to his collaborators. They are the ones who have to demonstrate, first of all, the entrepreneurial spirit within the corporation, which translates into treating clients as if they were their own.

Entrepreneurship values

Finally, if you are the founder of the company, always tell your story, inspire them, describe to your collaborators how you started your business, how it grew, the difficulties you went through, the falls and rises, and, above all, cultivate internally the Entrepreneurship values:

  • Pride for what has been achieved, be productive.
  • Look for advance on their own.
  • Have self-esteem.

Transmit the entrepreneurship and entrepreneur within organizations and make your workers feel the pride of belonging to your company and that they are the manager of their area of responsibility, whatever it may be.

To lead the comprehensive financial-fiscal management of companies, you can train with our Master in Financial Management, Accounting and Management Control in EIP, where you will acquire in-depth knowledge and innovative techniques in finance.

Remember that the paradigm of the world of employment is already over; Fortunately, we are now in the world of employability and, along with it, in that of entrepreneurship which, as we have indicated, is not only possible within the company but desirable.

Only with intra-entrepreneurs within a company,

it will be able to be competitive and achieve success.
