UPME regulates incentives for energy efficiency in Colombia

CLEAN ENERGY XXI. The Mining and Energy Planning Unit – UPME, an entity attached to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, announced this Wednesday the regulation of the procedure to access the exclusion of VAT for elements, equipment and machinery, both national and imported, for energy efficiency projects.
“With this initiative we promote the rational and efficient use of energy, which contributes to ensuring full and timely energy supply, the competitiveness of the Colombian economy, consumer protection and the promotion of the use of sustainable energy,” indicated the Minister of Mines and Energy, Germán Arce Zapata.
