Subsidies for savings and efficiency projects of local entities of the FEDER Program (2014-2020)

Last June, the Council of Ministers approved the Royal Decree 616/2017 which regulates the direct granting of subsidies to unique projects of local entities that promote the transition to a low-carbon economy within the framework of the FEDER operational program for sustainable growth 2014-2020.

These subsidies, for a total amount of 336 million euros, will be granted by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) and those municipalities or groups of municipalities whose population is less than 20,000 inhabitants, as well as Ceuta and Melilla, may benefit from them.
To obtain aid, municipalities must reduce carbon dioxide emissions by carrying out unique energy savings and efficiency and use of renewable energy.
