This 2021 is full of new features, such as the new labeling of energy efficiency of the European Union that comes into force this year.
As of 2021, the A+++, A++ and A+ rating on the label disappears. So home appliances will have new labeling that shows us the quality of their energy efficiency.
Why is there a change in labeling? Well, the answer is very logical: the current classification was approved in 1994, which means that it has been in force for almost 30 years; three decades in which appliances and devices have improved exponentially, which means that these measures have become obsolete.
He new energy efficiency labeling gets rid of the + and opts for a simpler classification: from the A to G.
What more changes will we see?
We have already mentioned the main change at the beginning of the blog: the categories. These are in descending order, with A being the product with the highest energy efficiency and G referring to the worst products, energy-wise. By the way, the colors of the classic labeling are maintained.
This will cause some devices that had an A++ classification before the change to be classified as C. This is not because the product itself has become worse; What it means is that the new labeling will be harder to classify.
The A rating will be empty for a while, to have room for improvements and technological advances in the coming years. In addition, a new revision of the classification is also planned when the 30% of the products on the market obtain the A, although this will happen in a few years.
