Sustainable Mobility – The Madrid Cities Forum

The sustainable mobility It is a topic that is increasingly present in our lives. In recent years, we have been seeing how Spanish cities are making changes to better adapt to this new trend that takes the environment into account.

Therefore, they are creating Forums and events since 2018, such as the one that was held in the city of Malaga, or the one that will be held next June in Madrid. This appointment will be at IFEMA in «The Madrid Cities Forum”, which together with Traffic will also present various solutions sustainable mobility. In the 2021 edition, the Forum will not be held in person, as has occurred on other occasions, so it will be held electronically. And more than 45 Spanish and Latin American cities will participate.

There is still a lot of ignorance about sustainable mobility, which is why we want to delve a little deeper into the topic:

Why is sustainable mobility so important?

Because we needs improve air pollution, excessive energy consumption, the effects on the health of the population or the saturation of traffic routes. That is why the decision has been made to expand the content, the opponents, the debates and the round tables in the next forum. So that those responsible for each city adapt to the new circumstances.

What is the objective of sustainable mobility?

Create “new-green” cities, in order to reduce harmful emissions and in reduce environmental pollution. An attempt is made to promote mobility by bicycle, on foot, and by public transport by creating new systems. Raise awareness among citizens about the use of sustainable vehicles, increase traffic information and encourage the sharing of vehicles to get to work. In addition, cities are increasingly allocating more budgets to increase electric charging infrastructure.

Tell us what you think of the sustainable mobility movement and tell us which areas convince you the most at the moment.
