The Port of Malaga presents in DH2 Green, a port project focused on use of renewable energies.
It is proposed design and implement a smart network linked to renewable hydrogen and ammonia in the port area. With the Master in Efficient Management of Renewable Energies of EIP, you will be trained in this field and will be qualified to design and manage the installation of renewable energies.
Objective of the project
The objective is to contribute to a clean economy and fight climate changeToday we will work to improve the energy efficiency of the Port of Malaga.
This energy proposal as a pillar of sustainable self-consumption through electric and hydrogen recharging stations will be intended for both ships and land vehicles.
The project provides encouraging data in terms of decarbonization: will mean a emissions reduction around the 65% and a reduction of hydrogen supply cost on at least one 25%.
The main lines of action are the construction of cogeneration facilities through the use of renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions to the atmosphere through reducing the use of fossil fuels and the implementation of spaces and tree barriers in various locations of the port.
Project features
One of the characteristics of this project is the innovation What this entails, the President of the Project, Ramón Carrasco, says “by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the production of hydrogen from renewable sources in a multimodal node with the presence of different modes of transport and public energy networks.”
Another feature is the distributed generation, which means that energy production is carried out in a location close to the final use.
The operations of generation, storage and abstention The energy will be housed in containers, which will minimize the space used and facilitate transportation. It will be located in the pilot plant of this project will be built at the Buran Energy facilities, located in the Port of Malaga.
This project, made up of 13 national and international organizations specialized in the renewable sector has been presented to the call of the European Green Deal. Buran Energy and the Port Authority of Malaga are the main promoters of this project, but they have the participation of:
- H2B2, as manufacturers of electrolyzers.
- The Polytechnic University of Madrid, through the Agustín Betancourt Foundation, as advisors and technical support.
- Azcatec, Emdelen (France), McValnera and Riverlake Solutions (Netherlands), as technical project management companies.
- RQuantech (Switzerland), as a company specialized in artificial intelligence.
- Hispanic Aeronautics, which will deal with the transfer to other sectors.
- Malagaport, as the body in charge of dissemination and dissemination.
- Valorize Environmental Services and Oil Distribution Terminals (ODT) as end users of the project.
