Documents that reflect the different concepts of a worker's salary can become indecipherable gibberish.
35.6% of Spaniards would not be able to explain where the amounts that appear on their payroll come from. And, according to the OCU, “understanding a payroll can be a real hieroglyph for many people due to the quantity and complexity of the concepts it includes.”
In general, there is a lot of ignorance on salary slips and its content. There are workers who do not know how to find the type of personal income tax withholding that is being applied to them, who do not know what their gross annual salary is or are not clear if it is distributed over 12 or 14 payments.
