Do I have to notify the company?
Yes, missing work without prior notice is an absence that can be punishable or could even be grounds for dismissal, so we recommend that you always contact your manager and the Human Resources department.
Should I justify the cause?
It is essential that the worker justify the cause that gives rise to the right of absence. However, try to provide the less personal information the better. The company should only ask you for what is essential to justify the right. For example, in the case of paid leave due to an accident or illness of relatives, you should not provide a personal document from the patient but only a receipt containing the essential data to corroborate that a family member is hospitalized.
It is my partner who needs rest but we are not married. Does the permit also apply to me?
No, you could only be absent if you were a de facto couple.
Are the days work or calendar days?
With the exception of the marriage permit, it is not specified whether they are natural or work-related. It will be necessary to go to the collective agreement. If nothing is specified either, calendar days would have to be considered.
