Through the Catalan Institute of Energy (ICAEN), The Generalitat of Catalonia has made available to any company in the Catalan industry a call for aid of almost 50 million euros to apply measures of energy efficiency in their processes.
The Generalitat's objective is to achieve a decarbonized, renewable, efficient and globally competitive energy model in its industry.
It has been more than proven during these last few months that to get out of this health crisis, the industry will be a safe bet, since training and improving the quality of employment will be essential to achieve this objective.
The idea is that the more efficient a company is, the more competitive it will become in the sector, so the ideal will be to opt for aid and measures with long return periods on the investment, according to what it states. Manel Torrent, director of ICAEN.

What needs to be presented?
Through the energy savings, energy efficiency and increased productivity Thanks to this energy consumption, companies will have to present their projects to promote decarbonization of them to ICAEN.
Who can benefit from this aid?
The SMEs and large companies in the industrial sector They will be the great beneficiaries of this injection of investment. In addition, energy service companies (THAT) that act with an energy services contract with an industrial company.
What subsidy lines are there?
There are two lines of subsidy for this aid: the first will be dedicated to improving technology in industrial equipment and processes; On the other hand, the second line of subsidy will be dedicated to the implementation of industrial energy management systems.
Both lines will have a maximum aid of 9M euros for the same industrial location.
These companies have until December 31 of this year to request them*
