End of Isabel Alonso's professional internship at Grupo IFES and start of her work activity. Isabel finished her professional internship at Grupo Ifes. This group is made up of a team of professionals specialized in renewable energies, contributing to sustainable development through the application of new technologies that care for the environment. Its main objectives are to be the main bioenergy consultancy in the agricultural and agro-industrial sector and to permanently research and develop new processes.
The work performed is divided into three main areas: laboratory work, office work and field trips.
Laboratory work was the main area where the longest duration of the internship took place. The main activities carried out were the following:
– Collaboration in the development of the Thesis of Guido Casanovas (Co-founder of Grupo Ifes) “Construction of a UASB reactor for the treatment of effluents and the production of biogas.”
– Temperature, pH and conductivity measurements of the reactor effluent.
– COD, BOD measurements.
– Calculation of total, fixed and volatile solids, calculation of suspended solids and calculation of Ammoniums, sulfates and nitrates.
Once he finished his internship, he began working, also in Argentina, at the John Deere forest biomass harvesting machinery distribution company.
