Completion of Oriol García's internship at Netum

Oriol has sent us a short letter in which he tells us the experience he has had during the development of the biomass training program and the subsequent internships he has carried out at the company Netum. With the aim that you can share his experience, we transcribe the writing that he sent us:
«I have always had a great interest in the conservation and improvement of the quality of the Environment, an immediate need arises to mitigate the effects we cause on our planet. Hence, the management we do in it will have repercussions in the medium-long term for all those present and to come.
During our forestry studies at the University of Lérida, we were taught the fundamentals for the management and conservation of a mountain or forest area, based on ecologically sustainable criteria.
After finishing university studies, in 2016, I decided to emigrate to Uruguay, which has a strong forestry industry, without current growth, but with very favorable growth forecasts for 2020.
Once settled in my new country, I decide to combine the job search with increasing my professional training. Thus, I decided to take the Higher University Course on International Biomass Project Management at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid (URJC), with the collaboration of Mainfor. A course that adapts perfectly to my professional needs, since it has a focus on Renewable Energies in Europe and Latin America.
During the course we discuss the conceptual frameworks of biomass, its forms of characterization, national (Spanish), European and Latin American regulations. We learn to identify and evaluate the characteristics of matter for its application for energy purposes. It is about analyzing the economic viability, in order to provide an improvement for the client and for the Environment, thanks to the reuse of biomass waste. They also teach us the most common terminologies of the sector in English, to improve the resume and personal brand.
As a final project I decided, taking advantage of my stay in Latin America, to carry out an analysis on the potential of Pellet in Uruguay. In this, I highlight the enormous tree reserves that will begin to be harvested starting in 2019 and the increasing forecasts that many university and professional studies publish. I visit the only national pellet factory and at the end of the study, they inform me that in 2019 the second wood pellet processing plant will open, corroborating the upward trend.
The work practices offered by the URJC and Mainfor were carried out at Netum, a Uruguayan company committed to the environmental quality of the country, which specializes in the construction of biodigesters to obtain methane on a small and medium scale, to deal with waste from the poultry industry that currently have no treatment and are a worrying contamination load.
From this experience I highlight the great human treatment received, seeing the interest with which many people are working to improve, on a small and large scale, environmental quality. "Professionalism, rigor and daily commitment."
