If you are reading this it is because you probably already know what the main concern of the International Graduate School is: to offer you quality training that opens the doors of the labor market wide for you. Under this banner, on May 4 we held the 'Practical Cybersecurity and Python Programming Workshop: First Steps in Your Professional Career' at The Green Ray Building (Málaga). In addition, we will raffle a master's degree among all attendees, to choose from the Cybersecurity, Ethical Hacking and Offensive Security or the Advanced Master in Python Programming for Hacking, Big Data and Machine Learning.
There, in front of a full auditorium, EIP's offensive security professor, Daniel García Baameiro, presented his advice and experiences as a young cybersecurity professional. The general director of EIP TIC, Manuel García Moreno, also attended the workshop to review the employment situation in the cybersecurity sector for the young vocational training students.
A workshop with all the data
The increase in data exchange over the Internet—caused, in part, by the outbreak of the pandemic—favors the growth of cyber threats and digital crimes. Companies know this and need to incorporate qualified cybersecurity professionals into their ranks to stop a very stark reality: nine out of ten companies have received a cyber attack. However, these profiles are scarce on the market.
In Spain there is a deficit of about 38,000 experts in this matter, according to The report from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2). A deficit and a need for training that is also worrying in Europe. The EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) points out that the number of cybersecurity graduates will double in the next three years, but, at the same time, it warns about the lack of quality specialized training.
To cover this gap, professionals who have university training will be as necessary as those who come from Vocational Training classrooms. The latter will be as qualified as the former to assume positions of responsibility, resolve incidents and have guaranteed employment for many years.
And on this path, as it could not be otherwise, you will find the help and support of the EIP International Business School.
We would like to thank all the participants for their attendance at the workshop and their institutes:
