More than 19 million members

The System added 91,322 employed people in the last month, the second best figure in June since 2006. The barrier of 19 million employed people (19,006,990) is surpassed for the first time in 10 years.

The average membership to Social Security reached 19.006.990 affiliates after rising by 91,322, 0.48%, a figure that had not been reached since September 2008 (19,020,359). This is, therefore, the best affiliation data of the last decade. In seasonally adjusted terms, continues adding employed people (53,236) and reaches 18.800.828In interannual terms, June of the year closed with an increase of 573,884 more average affiliates, 3,11%. Another significant data is the number of affiliated women to Social Security, which exceeds the result of May, with 8.779.129 workers, the highest level ever recorded. They represent 46,19% of the total employed.

The business creation (CCC) grows by 7,709, with May being the last month available.

Compared to the previous month

He general regime registered an increase of 77,477 people (0.50%), a figure that exceeds that of June of last year, and which raises the figure to 15,664,100 employed people.

In a more detailed analysis, it is observed that it is the highest figure in the entire historical series, since the integration of the agrarian and household regimes occurred. If the pure general regime is considered – without the special systems integrated in 2012 – it is the best record (14,457,662) since September 2008 (14,554,822).

In May, membership grew in most Economic sectors, especially in hospitality with 34,357 (2,53%); trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles with 28,617 (1,20%), health activities and social services, 20,570 (1,40%), administrative activities and auxiliary services, 19,492 (1,51%); manufacturing industry, 14,706 (0.81%); construction, 12,863 (1.57%) and transportation and storage, 5,214 (0.74%).

In the opposite direction, the greatest weight corresponds to education which, coinciding with the end of the school year, registers a decrease of 54,231 (-5.78%).

As for the special agricultural system, registers 21,716 fewer employed people (-2,69%), and stands at 787,069 average affiliates. For its part, the special system for domestic employees fell by 777 (-0.19%) and reached 419,369 employees.

He self-employed regime It has 3,273,558 people, after increasing by 12,160 (0.37%) in the month.

With respect to special regime of the sea, adds 1,699 employed people (2,60%) to reach 67,081. Finally, the coal It is made up of 2,251 members, which drops by 14 people.

The number of Social Security affiliates increases in June in most of the autonomous communities, especially in Catalonia (32,568), the Balearic Islands (23,822), Castilla-La Mancha (12,457), Galicia (8,408) and Aragón (8,296). It decreases in Andalusia (-23,655), Region of Murcia (-1,685) and the autonomous cities of Ceuta (-55) and Melilla (-386).

Compared to 2017

Compared to last year, the System has gained 573,884 employees, 3,11%. Specifically, it highlights the good performance of the general regime, which incorporates 538,381 workers (3,56%).

In the special regime for workers self-employed It should be noted that the rate increased by 1.09%, which translates into a growth of 35,148 people. The regime of sea grew by 1,14% (758) and the coal registered a decrease of 403 employed persons (-15,17%).

In annual terms, employment increases in all provinces, communities and Autonomous cities highlighting percentage increases in the Valencian Community (4,12%), the Canary Islands (4,09%) and the Community of Madrid (3,98%).
