I have the right to have all your data... or not?

How far can you protect your data?

They say that Society is always ahead of its rulers. And a clear reflection is that our laws always end up arriving late and, in most cases, with gaps so immense as to generate non-peaceful discussions.

When we already believed that our brand new new legislation on personal data was the panacea of security, an innocent pangolin has managed to turn the world we know upside down, causing the emergence a case for which we were not prepared.

Carrying out tests on COVID 19 or “safety” measures that include taking the temperature of workers who collide head-on with the need for free consent for the collection of this data. Recently, the contentious-administrative court No. 3 of Córdoba has accepted for processing a lawsuit by a student against the University of Córdoba for "video surveillance" in distance exams when said student understands that “"The right to privacy of the home is violated and has no legal basis for doing so.".

For this reason, when in data protection officer certification scheme of the AEPD, in relation to the agenda under examination, a small section is included on “new technologies” we consider that, in practice and the professional skills that the Data Protection Delegate must assume, this chapter falls short in a world that changes so quickly and where technology has such an intrusive impact on everyone's daily lives. Applications that include geolocation or perform user profiles, biometric identifications or recordings in the absence of free consent are nothing more than a small sample of situations to which these professionals must respond and/or legal coverage regarding privacy.

Hence, in the design of the Master in Data Protection Management & Chief Compliance Officer As always, we started by detailing, thoroughly and with the advice of the professionals who already perform these functions, each of the skills they will need our postgraduates so that, in their daily professional life, these “gaps” do not exist and they know successfully face any future challenge. This is how we guarantee the high level of employability which is already an “emblem” of the EIP International Business School.
