A few days ago it was published on the portal iss.europa.eu the offer for a senior cybersecurity expert, his work will be the implementation of the project “Global mapping on capacity building and cybersecurity portal” funded by the European Commission.
The European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) is the EU agency that analyzes foreign, security and defense policy issues. With its headquarters in Paris and a liaison office in Brussels, it promotes a common security culture in the EU, contributes to the development and projection of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), supports the development and projection of the foreign policy of the EU and contributes to the debate on security strategy inside and outside Europe.
Its fundamental mission is to provide analysis and organize debate forums that help formulate EU policies. While carrying out this task, it also acts as an intermediary between European experts and decision-makers at all levels.
The qualities that the candidate must possess will be:
– University degree or equivalent in international law, politics, international relations or any other discipline relevant to the assignment;
– Minimum 8 years of work experience in the area of international/European security sector policy, research or program management;
– Minimum 5 years of work experience in the area of international/European cybersecurity policy, preferably with a focus on global and regional cyberspace/cyber capacity building processes.
The Main responsibilities of the person hired, among others, would be:
– Polish and implement a field research methodology to collect project information and a methodology to collect recommendations to improve coordination and knowledge/experience sharing during mapping field research;
– Report information about new projects and relevant publications to the Cybil Portal as research progresses;
– Conduct a maximum of two workshops (including event logistics, preparing the agenda, moderating the meeting and summary notes);
– Generate a report on the trends identified in the cartographic database;
– Advise solid and usable recommendations to improve future coordination and exchange of knowledge and experience;
– Keep interested parties informed and form an informal international network of organizations interested in sharing and using project information;
– Partnering with data visualization expert and Cybil Portal to propose how you will integrate the online project visualization tool and with data visualization expert to include charts, maps and graphs in the trend report and produce the article online that you will communicate the findings to a non-expert audience;
– Communicate findings and recommendations to the Contracting Authority.
Said agreement would extend from September 15, 2020 to March 1, 2021, about 70 days with a remuneration total for this service that will be adjusted according to the candidate's experience, but, will not exceed 38,500 euross.
