On June 29, 2021, the Spanish Data Protection Agency published a new guide: Risk management and impact assessment in personal data processing.
This publication, as interesting as it is extensive, is a guide to risk management for the rights and freedoms of data subjects applicable to any processing, regardless of its level of risk. Furthermore, and for cases of high-risk treatments, it incorporates the necessary guidelines to carry out the Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) and, where appropriate, the prior consultation referred to in article 36 of the RGPD.
Its objective is to incorporate the lessons learned in the application of risk management in the field of data protection and the new criteria and interpretations, both of the AEPD and the European Data Protection Committee (CEPD) and the European Data Protection Supervisor. Data Protection (EDPS). In addition to collecting the accumulated experience, it aims to improve the materials aimed at helping compliance by those responsible, giving a unified vision of risk management and the DPIA.
In this webinar, we will review the main new features provided by the Guide in relation to the methodology to follow to manage risks and we will learn about the Evalúa-Riesgo tool developed by the AEPD and which facilitates the evaluation of the risk level of treatments.
