This course will introduce us to the world of solar energy through the PVsyst energy simulation software, which will allow us to obtain the calculation of electrical energy that a photovoltaic plant is capable of producing.

Throughout it, case studies based on reality will be developed, so you will learn the necessary steps to complete the simulation through the different options allowed by the PVsyst program, energy simulation software of large “utility scale” plants.

6 lessons in which we will review the following contents

PVsyst methodology and main starting data.

Radiation databases to start the simulation.

Installation orientation and photovoltaic panel and inverter system to be used

Detailed losses of solar photovoltaic plant design.

Far and near horizon and shading.

Simulation and results obtained from the program.

At the end of the course the student will learn to work from the introduction of radiation data, geographic and meteorological data and technical characteristics of the equipment, defining the type of orientation and the losses of the system. Thus obtaining the ability to calculate the electrical energy (MWh/year) produced by the photovoltaic plant from its start-up and throughout its life cycle, through a computational simulation always based on energy efficiency.
