After a year and a half of negotiations, European representatives have failed to live up to their climate responsibility.<br \/>\nOn June 19, the last negotiating session of the European trilogue on\u00a0<strong>the new energy efficiency directive<\/strong>\u00a0and the Governance Regulations. At the end of the last negotiation session, representatives of the Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission have managed to agree on a common objective, and establish the provisions of the new Energy Efficiency Directive for 2030.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The main points agreed upon in yesterday afternoon&#039;s session were the following:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A European target of 32.5% of energy efficiency by 2030. A target that is not legally binding for Member States.<\/li>\n<li>An annual savings of 0.8%.
