It would also create a problem that is difficult to solve. Today, only those people who live in isolated farms without connection to the electrical grid avoid the State charging them for producing and consuming their own energy. It is the consequence of the call\u00a0<b><a title=\" sun tax\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lasexta.com\/temas\/impuesto_al_sol-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sun tax<\/a>.<\/b><br \/>\nThe detractors of this measure believe that if Spain supported the<b>\u00a0solar energy self-generation<\/b>The benefits would be enormous and immediate: fewer polluting emissions, lower consumption of fossil fuels, greater efficiency in the electrical distribution network...<br \/>\nBesides,\u00a0<b>the electricity bill would be considerably reduced<\/b>. And this is the big problem for critics of self-consumption. Half of the electricity bill that we Spaniards pay is not for our individual consumption: it is partly used to cover the tariff deficit with the electricity companies.<br \/>\nIt also serves to pay for the nuclear moratorium,<b>\u00a0renewable energy subsidies<\/b>\u00a0or the energy supply to the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.
