Yes, you heard right. The Government has just approved aid worth 75 million euros for investment in renewable energies in the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.<\/span><\/h2>\n

These aids come from <\/span>European Regional Development Fund or ERDF<\/a>, <\/b>which aims to eliminate economic and social inequality within the European Union. Specifically, these <\/span>aid for clean energy<\/b> They are worth 75.1 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

Canary Islands<\/span><\/h3>\n

One of the budget items will go to investment in wind energy in the Canary Islands. A total of 54.4 million euros that will promote this type of facilities in this autonomous community. In addition, this aid encourages additional private investment, which is estimated at around 137 million more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With this investment, a production of about 160 megawatts of renewable energy is expected in the next two years. Furthermore, it not only affects the production of renewable energy, but will also generate employment both locally and nationally and will contribute to the elimination of more than 200 tons of CO2 equivalent per year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Balearic Islands are not far behind, with an investment of 20.7 million euros allocated to photovoltaic energy on the islands, which is expected to produce no less than 120 megawatts between 2012\/2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, this aid is not the only one that the archipelago has received in recent years, since more than 190 million euros of public investment have been allocated, with a total of 932 million between public and private aid.<\/span><\/p>\n
