We continue climbing within the\u00a0hierarchical scheme<\/a> of the BIM methodology. If during the previous weeks we have become familiar with the different functions that each role plays within the Project Design Team \u2013 <\/em>the BIM modelers<\/a>, the BIM coordinators<\/a> and the Directors of Design Management and Execution Management<\/a>\u2013 This week we do not stop at the person responsible for this human team: the BIM Technical Director<\/strong> either BIM MANAGER<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He Bim Manager<\/strong><\/em>, is the person appointed by the Project Management Team (in any phase of the project or asset life cycle) who is responsible for and responsible for the digital quality and content structure for the BIM project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lead the correct implementation and use of the BIM methodology<\/strong>, coordinating the modeling of the project and resources, in collaboration with all the agents involved, ensuring the correct integration of models and their disciplines<\/strong> with the global vision of the project, also coordinating the generation of content, with the capacity to communicate<\/strong> the benefits and difficulties of BIM.<\/p>\n

Their work has a technical and systematic nature; That is, it must control both the technique (software, hardware, architectural and engineering knowledge...) as well as have a systematic approach, this is operating from logical sequences to execute a project: formulate objectives, find requirements, organize activities and coordinate those people who carry them out... and various processes until obtaining a result.<\/p>\n

Functions and responsibilities:<\/h2>\n

\u00b7 Propose and coordinate the definition, implementation and compliance of the BIM Execution Plan<\/strong> (BEP).
\n\u00b7 Apply the workflows<\/strong> in the projects.
\n\u00b7 Application and validation of the protocols<\/strong> BIM.
\n\u00b7 BIM user manual.
\n\u00b7 Must support collaborative work and to coordinate<\/strong> to the Project Design Team<\/em>.
\n\u00b7 Must be the one who establishes the Collaborative Environment<\/strong> (CDE).
\n\u00b7 He is in charge of normalization and standardization.
\n\u00b7 Software and platforms.
\n\u00b7 It will establish the levels of detail and information.
\n\u00b7 Will be responsible for the model management<\/strong>, the changes in said management and the quality<\/strong> of the model.
\n\u00b7 Provide assistance in meetings between the Project Design Team and the Promoter.
\n\u00b7 Is responsible for ensuring the interoperability<\/strong>.
\n\u00b7 Provide technical support in collision detection.<\/p>\n

As you can see, it is a position with a lot of activity and responsibility<\/strong> within the team, although as we always tell you, the figure must adapt to the project and size of the work team.<\/p>\n

Although the workload for this role is high and performs fundamental tasks at the beginning of a project<\/strong>, once the project phase it coordinates is up and running, it is common for the person who assumes this role to perform some other role of lesser responsibility within the hierarchy of the methodology.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
