In 2024, Spain became the <strong>fifth country most affected by ransomware attacks<\/strong> worldwide, with an increase of <strong>23%<\/strong> compared to the previous year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, a December 2024 report revealed that <strong>47% of Spanish companies<\/strong> suffered some type of cyberattack, affecting key sectors such as banking, healthcare and telecommunications.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-569414c9 gb-headline-text\"><strong>Recent cases demonstrating digital vulnerability<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cyberattacks are not a theoretical threat. Their duties will include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Risk assessment and threat prevention.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Coordination of rapid responses to cyberattacks.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Training of professionals in cybersecurity.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>High demand for cybersecurity experts.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The rise of cyberattacks has skyrocketed the demand for <strong>cybersecurity professionals<\/strong>. Programs such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/eiposgrados.com\/eng\/programs\/master-in-cybersecurity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Professional Master in Cybersecurity Management, Ethical Hacking and Offensive Security<\/strong><\/a> of the <strong>International Postgraduate School (EIP)<\/strong> They offer specialized training with recognized certifications such as <strong>OSCP, CCSP and CISM<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-3e28c947 gb-headline-text\"><strong>Europe strengthens the fight against hackers<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On 16 January 2025, the European Commission announced the creation of a <strong>Pan-European Cybersecurity Centre<\/strong> to protect hospitals and healthcare providers. This is in response to the increase in attacks in the healthcare sector, such as the attack on <strong>Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona in 2023<\/strong>, which caused the cancellation of surgeries and medical consultations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-55655d7c gb-headline-text\"><strong>Spain joins the global fight against cybercrime<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the example of <strong>United Kingdom and United States<\/strong>, Spain is committed to strengthening the <strong>national cyber defense<\/strong> through laws and specialized agencies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>new Cybersecurity Law<\/strong> and the <strong>National Cybersecurity Center<\/strong> represent key steps in this strategy.
